gummy bears are short
but she towers over me
an avid lover of sports
with bruises on her knees
a kid and an adult
she straddles the line:
the heart of a child
but a grown up mind
ponies and physics
keep her up most nights
alkenes and animatics
light flickers in her eyes
clear headed and neat
plagued by procrastination
drawing makes her upbeat
and filled with frustration
her flavour is sweet
but i may receive sour
if i step on her feet
she’ll shoot me a glower
she loves her friends
but can’t take their praise
like gummies she may bend
but she will never stray
confused and lost in life
jealous of others’ headstarts
she hates herself, sometimes
but i love her with my whole heart
